The iOpener Coach Development Program (iCDP) is a carefully crafted 10-week program of guided personal study and live coaching practice resulting in a coaching accreditation with the EMCC.
The iOpener Coach Development Program is for people who want to deepen their coaching skills and gain accreditation with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC).
Our research in Applied Positive Psychology and the Science of Happiness at Work™ underpins the program. Contributing to the unique learning experience is the amount of 1:1 time you get with our faculty, as well as the insights and experience you gain from learning with a diverse yet intimately sized cohort of up to 12-20 people.
The program is rigorous and you will come away capable and confident in your knowledge and ability to coach effectively.
The program takes place over 10 weeks: each week includes 1 module of 2.5 hours in duration. In between modules you will complete tasks, discussions, coaching practice and build your network with fellow coaches.
The total study time for this program, including live sessions, is approximately 75 hours. As a guide, this is 7.5 hours per week (2.5 hours in live session plus 5 hours outside of the session).
For our next cohort, there is an optional module for you to become a Licensed Practitioner in the Science of Happiness at Work.

Excellent programme, genuinely thought-provoking and really engaging. It navigated the fine balance between theory and practice by enlightening the group on the principles and enabling us to put them into practice in a safe space."

This course is a must whether you’re entering coaching for the first time or need a refresher. Tom and Oriana have organized the topics brilliantly and built-in loads of practice which is essential to a course such as this. The inclusion of Positive Psychology and the Science of Happiness at Work, in addition to all the other coaching frameworks, makes this a very thorough and rich coaching course."

I signed up for this course hoping to refresh some coaching techniques and to be able to better teach the approach as part of my High Performing Team training. I also wanted to feel more confident in my coaching skills when asked to ‘mentor’ Technology Leaders. I got this and so much more. There was a lot more depth to the content, some very subtle but fantastic information shared from experienced coaches and great practice opportunities. I’ve also seen just how powerful and life changing good coaching can be. I would highly recommend this course."

This was a brilliantly delivered programme across 10 weeks, equally useful to those who have had no prior experience of coaching, as well as to those with experience. Despite the over-use of Zoom in our daily lives over the past year, the programme was highly engaging and the use of breakout rooms to interact and practice with other students (and make great connections) was used to great effect. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to enhance their coaching skills and practice more formally, or just to coach internally within their organisation."

This course was a real highlight in the past weeks. Tom and Oriana have taken me on a great journey to explore the facets of powerful coaching, of exploring myself and expanding my coaching skills, thus helping my clients to see, explore and unlock their potential and to make the changes they want to maximize their own performance. Thank you!"

This was a very well put together programme - as well as the virtual sessions, it utilised technology in a way that was very effective to anchor learning and keep our community connected. Just the right blend of theory, practice and reflection. A very valuable investment - would recommend to someone who is looking to become a professional coach, and to others who have some experience and are looking to refresh or consolidate."

As somebody who has worked in sports coaching and mentoring for several decades, I was very keen to fill a gap in my coaching skill set and delve deeper into both the theory and practical side of one to one coaching. I thought the material and delivery were excellent. The course presented an ideal balance between coaching practice, theory and visceral learning. Tom and Oriana bring a wealth of coaching experience to support the learning, delivered with expertise, guile and humility. I cannot recommend this course highly enough to those seeking to develop their coaching skills."

Very well designed program. While I miss the face-2-face contact, this program demonstrated to me that the modularization of learning content made possible by virtualization creates a learning journey which is both enjoyable and increases the quality of learning. The learning experience was supplemented by the learning platform we used. And of course, by the calm and easy-to-follow manner in which Tom & Oriana transmitted the learning material combined with lots of practice in small groups. I highly recommend this program to anybody wanting to learn coaching skills or people wanting to brush up on them."
